I have a Medela Pump-In-Style Breastpump Shoulder Bag. Wondering if I may sterilize frequently the parts using an electric steam sterilizer which I use for my baby bottles?

I wash my pump parts (bottles and funnels) in the dishwasher twice a week, and then rinse them with hot soapy water during the day at work. But that doesn't really answer your question...

 I sterilize my breast pump parts often in my bottle sterilizer in the microwave. In the medela quick clean microwave bags it says you can sterilize the tubing, the bottles, and the sheilds.  Hope this helps!

How do you like the microwave sterilizers...they sound like a great idea, but i've always hand washed or used dishwasher. Looking to buy, any recommended brands?

The microwave bags are WONDERFUL. I truly mean it. I have no patience for boiling, so the 3 minutes I need for the wattage of my microwave is perfect. We use them at work, since we have no other sterilization process for the moms' breast pump parts. I bought the bags for this baby and have been quite happy. Typically, there is no need to sterilize the tubing, as the milk doesn't come in contact with them. You clean & sterilize those parts that touch your milk. The water can be a bear to get out. We were told in our autumn competencies (in October) that you can pour a small amount of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol into the tubing to dry them out. it seems a bit tricky, so maybe ask your pharmacist for a 1 mL or 3 mL syringe to assist in the process.
