Question:“My daughter is 8 days old.. i have been pumping my breastmilk and feeding her in bottles, due to bleeding nipples... I'm only able to get 1 1/2 to 2 oz of milk each time.. i remeber with my other daughter i was always getting large amounts of milk and always had alot of bottles in the fridge stored up,., is it to early for my milk to be flowing that much?? or should i be doing something else to increase it?”

Answer:Dear Gina, I would suggest getting some help from an IBCLC professional with the soreness, so that you can breastfeed directly. This will help your supply more than anything, but an IBCLC can help ...

Question:“My son is a week old. At the hospital he latched on fine at first but as my stay continued for the 2 days it became harder and harder to get him to latch. When we got home, he no longer will take my breast at all. He cries hysterically as long as I have him near it. Sometimes he'll toy with my nipple and taste the milk I leave on it, but he'll never start to suck. I'm afraid I've already got him too used to a bottle that getting him to latch on will be impossible. What can I do? Right now...”
